Episode Nine: Serial Killer United States Record Holders

Welcome Back Dear Reader,
It has become a cult like interest to follow the lives and statistics of serial killers. I know personally, I can name five to seven from the top of my head without using the internet. There have been so many that have been made infamous because of the fascination involved with the horrible acts they committed. Many of them used the United States as their hunting grounds. I am going to focus solely on the United States and provide a detailed kill count/top score for you. We will also list out the obvious ones, at least obvious to me.
There are so many, and they are all individually unique. You don’t look at any of these folks and say to yourself, “That guy is a serial killer.” These folks operated in the shadows of our nightmares for years, for decades even. Nothing about them screamed ‘Serial Killer’, they were simply mentally deranged and had urges to take lives just like you and I may have urges to drink a soda or eat a candy bar. When you really break it down, it all comes down to the urges to do something or have something. Not one of you reading this have had an urge that didn’t need to be quenched, luckily ninety-nine percent of you are not serial killers.
Well, let’s get down to the details. Remember, we will only be discussing United
States Serial Killers and we will only be using ‘Proven Victims’ and not the ‘Possible
Victims’. I am also going to try to
stick to our timeframe (1950s-present), that will just make things a bit scarier:

Who did I forget? Was there a name you were expecting to see on the list that I failed to add? The fact that 20 plus confirmed kills is the bar to make it into the top thirteen serial killers of the 1950s to present day. It is absolutely fascinating that these people were able to take the lives of so many innocent folks. The level of evil you just ingested just might light that little fire in the back of your brain, trigger that switch that very few have chosen to flip to the ‘On’ position.
When I write about serial killers or when you see the title of serial killer, which one do you think of? Any certain one that stands out in your mind?
